Who Would Be The Baddest Black Bond?

Back on Nov of last year Jamie Foxx announced that he’d love to be the first black James Bond–if producers decide to change the pigment of the legendary character. But who really would be the best choice?

Since the current Bond there has been endless speculation about a black Bond. Below is a list of top contenders. Take your pick! Or, come up with one of your own. Is Denzel too old!

Recently, Will Smith added his name to the list of stars who want to be the first black James Bond, insisting he'll be the best choice for producers.

Rap mogul Diddy and Jamie Foxx have both put their names forward as a possible replacement for current 007 Daniel Craig, and recently Obsessed star Idris Elba suggested he'd be a better choice because he's British. Diddy went so far as to shoot a 007-themed TV ad for his fragrance line in an effort to show producers what he'd look like as a black Bond.

But Smith insists he's the best choice: "Puff probably lives the most like James Bond and Jamie Foxx got the swagger for James Bond. He can sing too, so he can add a new element to Bond, wooing the ladies. But I think I can guarantee the box office!"

Idris Elba–He’s British and fine.


Djimon Hounsou–He’s Afro-European and fine.


Jamie Foxx–He’s a great mimic and not hard on the eyes.


Chiwetel Ejiofor–He’s British but not exactly hunky.



Jimmy Jean-Louis–Haitain brother who sizzles on screen


Morris Chestnut–Might be able to handle the stunts, but might not be able to carry a picture.

agreed especially since he brtish i think it could work or will smith but doubt hollywood will take that risk it was a big thing that halle was casted so for this i can only imagine how this would be recieved it

Will Smith based on box office appeal but I think Denzel would be perfect for the role if he beefed up. I don't think age has ever been a factor with James Bond, it's always been about swagger. Idris doesn't necessarily have enough clout or appeal to be considered and Jamie Foxx just doesn't fit the profile.

Meh..I don't see how Halle Berry was much a leap and risk. Yeah she was the "official" black female role. But there have been prior significant female black roles in James Bond, way before Halle Time. A la Rosie Carver who was played by Gloria Hendry being the first black love interest:

NOne of those gents can serve James well. Will looks too young still for some reason, and Bond is not a comedy. Jamie HELLLLLLLL no, that would kill the franchise completely. All his movies these past few years have flopped. Moris is to pretty. the others are really Kunta Kente like HELL NO. If they go for a black guy, they are going to choose a mix brother or someone very light skinned that is not that famous or who is famous in the UK. That individual is going to be pushing late 30's early 40's/mid 40's. Trust.
